In a statement today, State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy declared her candidacy for County Executive for Prince George’s County.
“I’m excited to announce my candidacy for County Executive. I celebrate former County Executive and Senator-elect Alsobrooks for her decision to resign to allow the voters of the County to decide who their next leader should be. Her leadership and partnership with the county continue and will be incredibly important to the county, the state, and the country going forward.
The challenges and opportunities before us are enormous, and both will demand bold and ambitious visions in response. Voters know I’m unafraid of a challenge and seldom miss an opportunity. I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me – having twice elected me State’s Attorney. I’ll present my case to them as I have in the past and ask them to place their trust in me again.”
