Michael E. Arrington is the President of Capitol Connections, an Annapolis, Maryland-based government relations consultancy. Since establishing the firm in 2003, he has represented clients across a broad range of industries before the Maryland General Assembly and Prince George’s County Government.

Mr. Arrington previously served in the Maryland General Assembly, where he represented Prince George’s County’s 25th legislative district. His commitment to serving his constituents is well known to elected officials and legislators currently serving in state and county government and who know Michael on a first-name basis. In the House of Delegates, Mr. Arrington served on the powerful Judiciary Committee and as Chair of the Bi-County Committee, with authority over the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and the Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission.

As a respected former legislator, Mr. Arrington became chief lobbyist for Prince George’s County Government, responsible for developing and advancing the county’s legislative and budgetary agenda before the Maryland General Assembly. His skill in crafting and coordinating a cohesive strategy on behalf of the county’s eight senators and twenty-three delegates resulted in millions in appropriations for education, school construction, transportation, and public safety. He cultivated relationships with Maryland’s Congressional Delegation that resulted in multi-million-dollar grants and appropriations for Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland.

Mr. Arrington is as passionate and tenacious an advocate for his clients as he was a public servant, providing a deep well of knowledge about the legislative process, with access to legislators, and skill in developing strategic and comprehensive plans that lead to success. Currently serving on the board of the Center for American Politics and Citizenship at the University of Maryland, Mr. Arrington has been asked to serve on numerous boards and commissions. He previously served on the University of Maryland Board of Governors and served a four-year gubernatorially appointed term on the Maryland State Athletic Commission.
 

Mr. Arrington’s success has often been recognized, such as his being highlighted in the Baltimore Business Journal as “One of the 50 most Powerful Businesspersons in the State of Maryland.” Michael Arrington resides in Prince George’s County, MD.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland and attended graduate
school at Bowie State University in the School of Public Administration.
