COMMITTEE
Education, Employment, and Workforce Development
This committee is committed to building a “cradle-to-career” pipeline that supports educational excellence, equitable access to opportunity, meaningful employment, and strong workforce readiness for all Prince George’s County residents.
It will assess the effectiveness of public education from early childhood through K-12 and postsecondary alongside career and technical training programs, employment initiatives, and job placement services that contribute to long-term economic mobility.
The committee will explore and strengthen partnerships with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), charter and private schools, higher education institutions, Prince George’s Community College, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, local businesses, and labor organizations. Emphasis will be placed on closing achievement and opportunity gaps, investing in school infrastructure, ensuring equitable funding, and aligning education and training programs with evolving industry and employment needs.
The committee aims to ensure that every resident, regardless of background or zip code, can learn, grow, work, and thrive by promoting student support services, expanding career and technical education pathways, supporting workforce training, and improving access to quality employment opportunities.
